Signs of a Possible Vision Problem
There are many different eye conditions and various eye symptoms signifying them. If you have any concerns about a change in your vision or eye health, you should contact our experienced eye doctor right away. Stephen Wilmarth, MD, is experienced in detecting and treating eye problems. With prompt treatment, many eye conditions can be halted or reversed.
The symptoms listed below are not a diagnosis. Only an eye doctor can provide a diagnosis. But the following symptoms may mean there is an eye problem for which you should seek a medical evaluation. Signs of possible eye conditions and vision problems include:
- Blurry vision
- Clouding of your vision
- Objects out of focus far away
- Objects out of focus up close
- Extreme sensitivity to light
- Halos around lights
- Trouble seeing well at night
- Loss of peripheral vision
- Loss of central vision
There is a possibility that some of these symptoms could indicate a vision problem such as nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism. Some of these symptoms often accompany cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and other problems. The only way to know the underlying cause of your eye symptoms is to be examined by our eye doctor.
